The Rae Top (Tessuiti): Tuesday June 10th, 10 – 3pm

Introducing the Rae Top workshop, a perfect blend of style and comfort. This pull-on garment features a relaxed fit and a wide, gathered neckline that adds visual appeal. In this workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to choose from three distinct variations: the sleeveless design with bound armholes, the cap sleeve option for a slightly more covered look, or the elegant elbow-length sleeves with gathered hems. The Rae Top’s versatility makes it an essential addition to any wardrobe, suitable for both casual and formal occasions.

What you will learn:

• An intro to commercial patterns
• Measuring and choosing the right size for you
• Assembling a pattern
• Pattern marking
• Seam techniques
• Cutting out the fabric according to the pattern
• Attaching a facing

What you will need:

• Fabric: we encourage attendees to buy fabric from Betty’s, as we have sourced material to suit our patterns. It is always reasonably priced, and we offer a 15% discount.

Level: Dressmaking confidant beginner, but must already know how to use a sewing machine.

The pattern isn’t included but can be purchased in the shop.

Snacks and a light lunch are included.

Please be willing to visit the shop in advance to try on our samples in order to get the correct size and choose fabric.

You are welcome to bring your own fabric; however, we know our own fabric at Betty’s will work with our patterns. We can’t be held responsible if the fabric attendees bring is not suitable (e.g., synthetics, non-woven). Feel free to contact us to discuss.
