Fit Dress Course with Jacqui : 3 Thursday mornings starting 19th September, 10-2pm

Local tailor, Jacqui Luker is back to teach the fit dress course – aimed at confident sewers who’d like to progress their skills in order to develop your own patterns and make items that perfectly fit you, this is an exceptional chance to work alongside a professional seamstress.

Make a Sleeveless Shift Dress Toile to Fit Yourself.

This is a three week course, four hours per session with a biscuit and drink break.

Clothes just always look better if they fit well.  

On this course you will provide your measurements on signing up to the class and by 1st September at the latest.

On commencing the class you will be provided with a personalised paper draft of the sleeveless shift dress.  The draft has been created using your measurements.

In class we will use this draft to cut out and sew a calico toile.  Your toile will then be fine tuned to fit and any fit alterations will be reflected in the paper draft.  In some cases a further calico toile may be required.

The final patterns created including facing patterns can be then used to make a dress from fashion faBric.
